Ford Escape. Remote start works but key in the ignition says no key found?

Removed Evo and it's harness. Key worked.

Sounds like the ignition or transponder connector were not fully seated, which would allow remote start but not key start.

 

The ignition plugs on these can be tight, you need to make sure it bottoms out and clicks into spot.
