Is there such a thing as a hard reset?
related to an answer for: Reset EVO-KEY

To reset:

 

Unplug datalink,

 

push and hold programming button

 

replug datalink, RELEASE on RED

 

push and hold programming button UNTIL red and yellow led flash in sequence.

 

Reset done.

The procedure he gave you in the previous post will clear the EVO-KEY memory completely. It will not clear the current firwmare.

Is there any way to clear the firmware and start again.
you can't erase the firmware but you can always just reflash it
Ok thanks for that.on the wiring diagram fo the Chevvy Cruze, it says to ground pin 1 of the IMMO connector. Do I have to ground this or is it already grounded at the BCM.

On that diagram it is just showing you that PIN 1 of the Immobilizer connector is a ground and should not be mistaken for the Immo Power.  It is already grounded, no need to do it yourself.

 

Also I just checked the service number you had provided in your first post and it's showing that the vehicle selected is an Opel Astra J 2015, Are you installing this in another vehicle?
Thanks for that. Yes you are correct that i am installing in an Astra J 2015 but that is the wiring diagram that comes up. The Chevvy Cruz seems to be the same.
